Alec Webster

Alec Webster currently works in private equity at Sopris Capital, based in Dallas, Texas. Previously, Alec worked at Jefferies in the Investment Banking Leveraged Finance business unit. Alec received his BA from the University of Virginia, where he also played Division 1 lacrosse. Outside of work, Alec serves as a member of The Healthcare Private Equity Association Young Leaders and The Atlas Society Junior Board. Growing up with a blind younger sister, Alec witnessed firsthand the misconceptions toward people with disabilities and is driven to shift perspectives to ensure blind and low vision individuals share the same opportunities as their sighted counterparts to compete for success.

David Fubini

David Fubini is a Senior Lecturer at Harvard Business School and a renowned author of several business leadership books. Previously, he was a Senior Director of McKinsey & Company where he worked for over 34 years. He was McKinsey's Managing Director of the Boston Office, and the past leader of the North American Organization Practice as well as the founder and leader of the Firm’s Worldwide Merger Integration Practice. Outside of work and raising three beautiful children, David is on the Board of Directors of Leidos (formerly SAIC), as well as MITRE and J. M. Huber (family owned company), and a Bain Capital BDC Board. He was formerly on the Board of Compuware, and a member of the Shareholder Committee of ZS Associates Consulting.

David is a member or has been a member of several prominent Boston civic organizations. He has been an Executive Committee member of the Boston Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Boston Municipal Research Board, and the Inner City Scholarship Fund. David is a co-chair of the Board of Overseers of the Boston YMCA and was previously on the Board of Directors of WBUR (Boston’s local NPR station). In addition, David is a past member of Harvard Business School's Dean’s Advisory Council, and remains a member of the UMass Amherst Foundation, and the UMass Eisenberg School of Business Dean’s Committee. He is the past Chair of the Board of the Park School and a former member of the Dana Hall School and Beaver Country Day School Boards. He was a member of the Boston Mayor’s Blue Ribbon Committee on Sustainability, and was an active contributor to the Catholic Schools “2010 School Reform” Committee. He is also a Board member of the Weston Vermont Playhouse.

Kelly Lovett

Kelly Lovett is an active consultant, marketer, and advocate in the assistive technology space. Her passion for people, equality and inclusion serves as her main source of excitement and motivation in life. She has spent the majority of her career in the healthcare, AI and tech arenas, however she found her passion for the assistive tech community after a close family member began to lose their vision. Kelly wants to make a direct impact on making the world a more accessible place. She is delighted to bring her networking, engagement and fundraising experience to the TAD Board. Outside of her worklife, when she isn’t hiking, running or enjoying one of California’s many wineries, Kelly is volunteering and fundraising for California Labradors, Retrievers and More, where she has rescued both her dogs. Currently Kelly sticks to 5Ks and half marathons, however in 2012 she completed the Boston Marathon as a top fundraiser for Boston Children’s Hospital through both hosting dynamic events and pursuing corporate sponsorships.

Ian Spector

Ian Spector is a product and venture strategist who partners with executives, teams, and entrepreneurs to create transformational digital experiences using data, technology, and human-centered design. Former clients include early-stage technology and media ventures as well as iconic brands including Disney, Comcast, Sotheby's, and The New York Stock Exchange. His most recent area of work has been in researching, designing, and deploying effective enterprise automation services for financial services and healthcare firms.

Ian holds a Sc.B. in cognitive neuroscience with a focus in human-computer interaction from Brown University, where he led and served on the board of its flagship entrepreneurship program, and an MBA from MIT’s Sloan School of Management.

Nic Smoller

Nic received his bachelor of science in economics and business with honors from Villanova University and worked at Citibank in its leveraged finance investment banking division. He brings a strong sense of teamwork to his professional endeavors, stemming from his previous role as a 1-AA quarterback for Elon University's football team. Nic is also a certified diver, showcasing his commitment to adventure, safety, and problem-solving in challenging situations.

Nicholas Mahaney

Nic Mahaney is an experienced entrepreneur and product leader based in New York, NY. Currently, Nic is a Founder-in-Residence at Atomic, the world’s preeminent Venture Capital studio. Prior to Atomic, Nic was the Head of Product at Sandhill Markets after the acquisition of the company he co-founded was acquired in January 2022. Nic received his B.S. in Finance from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business, where he captained the Men’s Varsity Lacrosse team. After experiencing the ups and downs of life as a student-athlete, Nic founded the Student-Athlete Mental Health and Wellness program to provide student-athletes with on-premises counseling, education, and support resources. Nic is excited to leverage his experience building 0-to-1 to help build TAD’s programming and partnership programs.

Carmen Marin de Leon

Originally from Spain and raised in Switzerland, Carmen Marin is a FinTech investor focused on the digital transformation of capital markets. Her career spans JP Morgan's trading floor, digital strategy and FinTech strategic investments team, as well as early stage FinTech venture capital investing. A Harvard Business School alumna, she currently lives in New York City and works in FinTech private equity. Passionate about philanthropy from her youth in Geneva, Carmen served as the head of fundraising at the International School of Geneva leading relief efforts for the 2010 Haiti earthquake and ongoing projects in India and Nepal. A strong advocate for education as a catalyst for change, she takes pride in her work on and off the ground to fundraise and negotiate school fees for the Sagarmatha Orphanage House in Kathmandu.

During her time at JP Morgan, Carmen was an active member of "Women on the Move," where she championed board diversity encouraging the seats held through JP Morgan’s strategic investments to serve as a platform for greater representation at the top of organizations. Carmen is driven by the incredible mission that the foundation is on and is eager and committed to serving on the board of directors. She is ready to support in any capacity in enabling blind and low-vision communities to maximize their full potential, break barriers into the corporate world, and pursue whatever it is they choose to do in their future.

Kimberly Fay Boucher

Kimberly Fay Boucher is an experienced general manager, technology commercialization expert, digital transformation pioneer and MIT Senior Lecturer with 25+ years of operational expertise in the technology, digital commerce, and consumer goods industries. Kim teaches Entrepreneurship Lab at the Martin Trust Center for Entrepreneurship at MIT’s Sloan school of Management. She also serves as a board member of the MIT Delta V Accelerator Programs and as an advisory board member for two early-stage startups in AI and real estate technologies.

Most recently, Kim served as the Technology Commercialization Business Leader reporting to the Chief Technology Officer at Analog Devices (ADI) where she was part of ADI’s internal private equity fund tasked with identifying new businesses to fund. Prior to that, Kim oversaw the global marketing organization for ADI and all of its business units: Communications, Autonomous and Electric Vehicles, Factory 4.0, Aerospace & Defense, and Digital Healthcare industries.

With a lifelong passion for paying it forward, Kim cofounded and is a board director with the Women’s Foundation of Boston, funding women and girls programs for economic empowerment. She was the President of Athlete’s Serving the Community and consulted to social enterprise organizations including Jericho Road, Root Capital, Boston Partners in Education, Suitability, and the Maranyundo Initiative STEM School for Girls in Nyamata, Rwanda. Kim holds a BS degree in Management Industrial Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School. She is a NCAA Academic All-American Women’s Basketball player and was inducted into the WPI Athletic Hall of Fame in 2000. She is most proud of raising her three children as a single mother and resides in Boston, MA.

Kathryn Webster

Kathryn Webster is a strong thought leader across various communities, hence the ignition to found this organization, most notably named after her father, Tad, who passed away in 2017. Kathryn is a 2023 MBA candidate at Harvard Business School. Upon graduation, she will be joining KKR, the global investment firm, in New York. Kathryn grew up in Connecticut, later receiving Bachelor of Science degrees in Statistics and Computer Science with high honors from Wake Forest University. Her scholastic achievements propelled Kathryn into a career with Deloitte & Touché, LLP., where she specialized in strategic transformation and business process reengineering. While in the Washington DC metropolitan area, Kathryn spearheaded the creation of a mentorship program, Project RISE, under the National Federation of the Blind, for blind and low vision youth across the state of Virginia. She currently serves on the Board for the Lighthouse of San Francisco, Treasurer of BLIND, Inc. in Minneapolis, as a board member of the Jacobus tenBroek Memorial Fund, and on the board of Business Opportunities for the Blind. Kathryn is a leader in the National Federation of the Blind and previously served as President of the National Association of Blind Students, the largest organization promoting independence and confidence for blind students. Kathryn recognizes the value in intertwining corporate prowess with civic engagement, thus the impetus for Together Achieving Dreams Foundation Inc. She believes this organization will completely transform the way society, corporations, and families view the blind and low vision communities. She approaches each day with the motivation to break the stigma and prove that blind people can achieve anything they want in the world.

Syed Rizvi

Syed Rizvi is a 2024 JD candidate at Harvard Law School, where he was recognized as a Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow. Upon graduation, he will be joining Vinson & Elkins LLP, the world’s leading energy law firm. Syed grew up in Massachusetts, later earning his BA from UT Austin as the Dean’s Distinguished Graduate. As an advisor for Diversity Lab, Syed participated in the development of the first ever nationwide Law Firm Disability Inclusion Commitments, which have been adopted by the country’s largest firms and in-house legal departments. He currently serves as the Law Firm Relations Chair for the Harvard Disabled Law Students Association, a leader in the National Federation of the Blind, and an advisor to the Law School Admissions Council. Syed has a decade of experience working with TAD’s founder, Kathryn Webster, on various blindness initiatives. He served as her Vice President in the National Association of Blind Students, the largest organization promoting independence and confidence for blind students.

Alex Hickey

Treasurer

Alex Hickey is an investment professional at Appaloosa Management LP based in New York. Prior to this position, he held analyst and banking roles at Davidson Kempner Capital Management and Goldman Sachs, respectively. Alex graduated from Yale University with a BA in Economics with distinction. He is on the Brunswick School Alumni Development Council and sits on the Annual Project subcommittee. Alex has broad exposure to various charitable foundations and community groups, with a particular focus on organizations creating positive impact in the New York City area. Alex is eager to leverage his leadership skills and business development experience to create positive change and economic opportunity, specifically for marginalized groups.

Dustin Cather

Dustin Cather currently serves as Youth Program Coordinator at Blind Service Association in Chicago, Illinois. As a blind leader himself, Dustin works with blind and low vision students to provide mentorship, independence-focused programming, and scholarships. He currently serves as a board member of the National Federation of the Blind of Illinois and previously was Treasurer of the National Association of Blind Students, the largest organization supporting blind students. Prior to serving the blind community, Dustin worked in both hospitality and politics. Dustin is adopted from Romania and has a deep passion for giving back for as long as he remembers.
